Little problem with FTP

Hello! I know this isn't directly a problem with the template (I think), but I have a little problem.
Here's a picture. http://img199.imageshack.us/img199/3315 … ot121a.png
The thing is, when I try to modify or download the file "tiles.php" in the config folder of the template (v4), it just won't allow me to. The request will just time out after a while.
Any ideas on how to fix this?

Re: Little problem with FTP

Hi,

have you tried other ftp servers? Does the problem occur only at this site?

Can you download other files? What are the permissions on the files? Is the ftp user either owner or group member?

Perhaps changing the ftp mode in your client to active instead of passive will help. I can't tell...

What i can tell: definately has nothing to do with the template as such :-)

Re: Little problem with FTP

Thanks for the reply!
The problem only occurs on this specific file on this specific ftp server. All the other files are completely fine. I am the owner of the FTP. As every other file in the directory, this one is 0755 (permissions).
How do I change from passive to active?
Thanks,
Daniel

Re: Little problem with FTP

Hi,

that's strange only having one file affected by this... perhaps virus-scanner? Just a thought...

Regarding active mode you should find this in your settings (for that specific host). Probably somewhere you'll find a checkbox which reads "Use passive mode". Just uncheck it then.

It's very much depending on the FTP Client you use.

Do you have SSH access to that server? You could check the logfiles, if that is the case.
Also, you would be able to check this (perhaps corrupt) file and delete it, because you probably can't overwrite it either, right?

Yea lol. ^_^
I can overwrite the file with a new copy of it (thank backups) and the new one is writable and changeable and all. Dunno what happened to the old file. Corrupted or something! big_smile
