Icon in Tab

Up to now I haven't found the file where to place Icon for browser tab. Can I configure it in "general.php"? And how?
Thanks for help.

Opening my site you will see what I mean.

http://www.favicon.cc/

How does it work ?

    Choose a color
Click on the squares and paint your logo (or upload a picture)
    Download when you are finished
Put the favicon.ico file into your webserver directory (html root)

Re: Icon in Tab

Thanks for immediate reply. I have created favicon.ico and uploaded into root of website. Up to now it doesn't work. My homepage is starting with index.php. Have I to write a code inside html-section?

Re: Icon in Tab

It works for me on your site (I see the icon). Try another browser (it's probably because of your cache) or clear your cache. (or if you use Chrome, reload by pressing Shift + F5)

Re: Icon in Tab

Hi,

try adding the following code to the index.php <head>-section:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/ico" />

Re: Icon in Tab

Thanks for help. I cleared cache and have tried several options of code in index.php, but it doesn't work with Firefox (20.0). IE10 no problems.

Re: Icon in Tab

Really strange. Maybe it was a bug in FF20? Such a simple thing as a favicon...

Re: Icon in Tab

Hi Thomas,

what do you think about this homepage. I am working in an honorary capacity for a school to solve conflicts between students, students and teachers etc. I can tell you that those students like this homepage very much.

Thanks

Re: Icon in Tab

It's a nice site. I like the google maps implementation and the gallery.

Some points that could be improved maybe are:
-the flip effect on the "anfahrt" tile is a bit awkward because the image doesn't change.
-if you make the iframe a bit higher, the scrollbar inside the page will disappear.
- and the image on "Mediation" is a bit strange (blurry and I'm not sure that it suits the "mediation" page.

Oh and there's a typo in your site title (the thing in the url tab). (schulmedition)

And a thing that might be personal taste: I think it's more logical if you also put the current page in the site subnav, otherwise you get easily lost in the menus.

Re: Icon in Tab

Thomas,
thank you for hints. Most of them I have implemented alredy. Only image on "mediation"-page I haven't changed yet, because it should rules of play (mediation), but I will think about it.
Hope that I will find some nice ideas to improve my site.
