My site with Metro UI template

Hi all, just few words to share with all of you the link to my site, in French, dedicated to the "Responsive Web Design".

I think the Metro UI template is the best example to illustrate this subject, about adaptative web sites.

Feel free to give me your opinion, comments and suggestions.

Thanks !

Re: My site with Metro UI template

Hi,

i like it :-)

I'd suggest to sync the "lights" scrolling to be as long as the page scrolling.
You can change the background scrolling speed in layout.php

Should give a "more real" impression if the lights stop moving as soon as the tiles stop moving.

Re: My site with Metro UI template

Thank you for this good suggestion, I will test this change during the weekend.

I also added in the CSS of my template, the parameter: img {max-width: 100%;} to make my images "adaptives". But, unfortunately it also acts on the background image ... I need to find another solution.

By the way, your site is very cool !

Re: My site with Metro UI template

Hi,

thank you :-)

Regarding the CSS: I'm not sure, what the problem is, but you can always add own classes.

So, if you would like to have some img to be styled different then others, just add a class.

Example:

<img class="mySpecialImgClass" src=.....>

Then, edit your CSS file and add the styles only to imgages with that new class:

.mySpecialImgClass img {
     Your Styles here...;
     }

Re: My site with Metro UI template

Hi,
I know this is the wrong place, but Pie, the video which shows up when you go to the site, is this for advertising? And if yes, which advertising website do you use?

Re: My site with Metro UI template

Hi Luca,

it is my own advertising, not something like adwords or so.

We sell those Products and the video popup is merely a demo of displaying videos on first visit smile
It's cookie-based and will be displayed only once every 60 days.

Re: My site with Metro UI template

Hi Luca,

Sorry, but what do you mean by "It shows up everytime" ?

My browser is also Chrome 29.0.1547.66 m, and my site works fine... and it seems that also works for ciris and Pie...

Re: My site with Metro UI template

Luca,

perhaps you might want to check your Cookie Settings in Chrome smile

You should also get a changing background image once every day. If you get a random image on every refresh, the cookies aren't stored.

Re: My site with Metro UI template

Thank you ncustomer2012 for your comment, but I've tested the site with few test sites, for different medias, different sizes, and on my Android phone it works fine... I don't understand !

Could you please ask to someone else, with other phone os/browser, to test my site, and give a feedback ?

Thanks in advance, I will procede some new tests. Have a wonderful day !

Re: My site with Metro UI template

Page works fine in Windows Phone 8!

Sugestions:
1. Menu should go down with sweeping screen so it'll be easier to go to different content of page.
2. Until I went to Examples group of tiles I didn't know that there are 3 columns of tiles in your website! Maybe you should rearange template and create only 2 columns website because some people won't even know that there is something else in your page smile.
3. In Weather tile there is a problem with image. In my case Orbe tile background is semitransparent with pink color but cloud image is not transparent at all and it has black background. It looks bad.
4. Make more comming back to the top on pages (place more this too small arrow on the bottom on page), i.e. after every new topic like it's in Design_UX. And make it bigger or make more space between text and this image because it's hard to click on it. And check all of them because one time something went wrong and arrow didn't work.

Cheers!
