Can anyone tell me how I modify the left margin (start) of pages?

Re: Left margin of "Pages"

Do you mean #centerWrapper? One of margins (right one) is set automatically in layout.css by this code:

#centerWrapper {
margin: 0px auto 15px;
max-width: 900px;
padding: 0px 15px;
position: relative;
}

If you turn off margin style content will move to left side of screen. Did you mean this or sth else?

Re: Left margin of "Pages"

Chris,

Here is my problem.   It seems to only appear with a tablet.
Example:  If I have 3 groups (with tiles that link to pages)...  I click on a tile in group0  and the page will appear as it should, centered to the screen.   If I move to group 1 or group 2 and select a tile that links to a page, the landing page will appear partially off the screen to the left.

Link to website? It'll be easier to check where the problem in CSS is.

Re: Left margin of "Pages"

Chris,

Perhaps you can help.  I would really like the left position of the "Pages" to always have the same left co-ordinate as the title image.   Can I make a javascript fix?

Re: Left margin of "Pages"

Rsalomone,
as I told you, as far as I can see in code in files css/layout.css and inc/css.php, margin of #centerWrapper which contains a content of page is set automatically by CSS (css/layout.css: margin:0 auto 15px auto;) depending on site width (inc/css.php: max-width:<?php echo $maxPageWidth?>px; /* MAX WIDTH OF PAGE*/).

However... tell me do you have sidebar on you page which causes problems? If yes, problem is in file inc/sidebar.php where one of margin-left/right is changed (you need to check which one causes the problem by commenting line by line where margin-left/right is different that 0). I had and still have problem with it, if sidebar position is set to wrong side.

Conclusion: if you want to have the same left coordinates for all pages you need to make a change in CSS file.
But it'd be better if Thomas help you with your problem becase I'm not an expert in this template and CSS smile.

Re: Left margin of "Pages"

I do not have sidebars.   This problem only seams to appear in portrait mode (iPad).  The landscape mode is ok.   The width of the page itself is also ok.   When in portrait mode (I assume the calculations for left:  are messed and based on landscape mode width).

Re: Left margin of "Pages"

Can you give me an address of page with which you have problem? I don't have iThings but at least I can try to check online iThings emulators and see where the problem can be.

Re: Left margin of "Pages"

Chris,

I tried using http://www.ipadpeek.com instead of the iPad  (in landscape and portrait mode) and it works fine!  Grrr....

I think it is because we have code that detects if its a tablet or desktop.  The emulator probably detects "desktop".  Anyway, the problem does not show up.   I then forced the $device="tablet".   The problem does not present itself in the simulator.

Re: Left margin of "Pages"

My website:
http://www.nortel.ws

move to the second group (and select the "test Pages title").   The page that comes up is a subscribe page properly centered on a desktop.   However, on an iPad, the page is partially visible (in portrait mode).
